Q. Being a technocrat, how do you reconcile your interests in Astrology ?
A. Well, we shall have to go to the origin of astrology to understand its effectivity on human as well as mundane affairs. One is to believe in astrology if he believes in Vedas because astrology is one of the six limbs of Vedas namely Vyakarana(grammar), Chandas(Meter), Shiksha(Intonation), Nirukta(Etymology), Kalpa(Ritual) and Jyotish( Astrology). These six vedangas must be studied before one can attempt to comprehend the Vedas completely.
Q. Is it an accurate science?
A. Our Hindu tradition says that Vedas are infallible, then how can Jyotish, a limb of Vedas, be fallible. Jyotish is a science as it is systemmatic study of all facets of the ‘ lords of light’: The Sun, Moon, planets and stars. I firmly believe that Astrology is correct but astrologer may go wrong.
Q. How come you landed in Astrology?
A. Way back in 1989, a renowned astrologer predicted that I would join finance and he also gave my date of joining. Both the predictions turned out meticulously correct.
Q. Why do many political predictions go astray?
A. I believe that one can pursue astrology sincerely only when he has been sincere to his studies, work etc. Unfortunately, academic credentials of most of modern astrologers are below average. Every classic astrologer has experienced sometime or the other that he insisted with certainty that a certain event, good or bad, would take place and it did. Yet absolute insistence by an astrologer on the inevitable and his talk of ‘cosmic compulsions’ esp. in respect of politicians is only a piece of arrogance and impudence. Unfortunately, astrology is being practiced more by quacks than any other branch of human knowledge. Such people are bringing bad name to this divine science.
Q. How is astrology in tune with Karma theory propogated by Gita.
A. Well, belief in pre-destination never makes you pessimistic. The laws of karmas are inexorable. No one escapes them, in this birth or next births; otherwise astrology loses its entire base. Astrology reveals both the results of Karma and destiny, reveals both karmaphala (fruits of karma) and karma-samskaras. Both of them should be examined separately and then synthesised which is why astrology is the most difficult subject in the world. Many people, who seeing other people prosper through wrong means and not suffer, begin to lose faith in the results of karma. Astrologically speaking, it is the mahadasha scheme and yogas that show when and how the results of karmas will fructify. Those who are adopting wrong means and prospering must be passing thorugh favorable periods of prosperity giving planets. When their period of bad planets starts, the entire picture gets reversed.
Q. What are your areas of specialisation in astrology?
A. My areas of interests in astrology are - Muhurtha, Mundane and political astrology
Q. What are your well-known predictions so far?
A. With the grace of Lord Sun, I predicted in the newspapers of 22nd March 1998 that the then BJP Govt. At the centre would fall on 17th April 1999 that turned out right. Similarly, economic sanctions, imposed on India in the wake of Pokharan blast on 11 May 1998, were lifted in Mid-June 1999 as predicted. I was also consulted for suggesting good muhurtha for oath-taking ceremony of the present Central Govt. of Dr. Man Mohan singh. I was also consulted for giving auspicious Muhurtha of Budget session (2006-07) of the parliament.
Q. Do you predict more good or more bad?
A. Bad predictions must be sugar-coated. Men cannot bear pain. An astrologer who causes pain to anyone through his predictions will have to suffer himself sometime or the other.
Q. Can you tell just one astrological combination which may confirm” seeing is believing in astrology”?
A. Well, there are thousands of astrological yogas, which have stood the test of time. For curious readers, I advise them to watch the sky when Indian cricket team is playing its match. If Venus (evening star) and Moon are quite closer in the sky, India will definitely win in that match. It is based on the research on the chart of India’s independence.
Q. What is your advice to consultors who go to astrologers?
A. Everyone should try to learn primer of astrology. Do not get involved in discussion with astrologers who have two or three malefics in kendras in their birth chart, without benefic association or kendras void of benefics or benefic influences. (Ends)
